Introduction
« Manufacturing Intelligence » is a wide spread commercial buzzword Ø Software vendors provide « intelligent » software solutions to exist on the market - What this means exactly? Intelligence is a subjective and scalable topic. Ø A simple computation linking the detection of an event to a subsequent relevent action can be considered a somewhat low QI behaviour Ø Consciousness, wisdom seem much higher level that are currently unattainable by the machines
MI - Manufacturing Intelligence - Beyond the buzzword
Introduction
Information is the material of intelligence Ø Software bears a critical and increasing role Ø « Interaction » is a key element Organization makes intelligence actionable Ø Coherent, converging efforts to drive the system Solutions Manufacturing Intelligence? Ø Software vendors and integrators, consultants are not responsible for enabling / developing intelligence Ø However, software being concerned by information is more and more critical This study discusses general aspects of intelligence and its applicability Ø in the context of the industrial enterprise and specifically its manufacturing operations
MI - Manufacturing Intelligence - Beyond the buzzword
Main agenda
1 MI Common Understanding and Solutions 2 MI Intelligence Real meaning 3 MI Enable and Develop intelligence Language 4 MI Make Intelligence Actionable - VSM 5 MI Case studies A1 MI Enterprise language standards A2 MI Enterprise metamodel and taxonomy A3 MI Science for Enterprise systems
